ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ

عَلَّمَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ

Taught the Qur’ān, info

خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ

Created man, info
التفاسير:

عَلَّمَهُ ٱلۡبَيَانَ

[And] taught him eloquence. info

ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ بِحُسۡبَانٖ

The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, info
التفاسير:

6 : 55

وَٱلنَّجۡمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسۡجُدَانِ

And the stars and trees prostrate.[1593] info

[1593] They submit obediently to the laws of Allāh. See 22:18. An additional meaning of "najm" is vegetation of a kind without a trunk, stalk or stem.

وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ

And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance info

أَلَّا تَطۡغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡمِيزَانِ

That you not transgress within the balance. info

وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلۡوَزۡنَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ وَلَا تُخۡسِرُواْ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ

And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. info

10 : 55

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡأَنَامِ

And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. info

11 : 55

فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَٱلنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ ٱلۡأَكۡمَامِ

Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] info

وَٱلۡحَبُّ ذُو ٱلۡعَصۡفِ وَٱلرَّيۡحَانُ

And grain having husks and scented plants. info

13 : 55

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?[1594] info

[1594] Literally, "you two," addressing the species of mankind and jinn.

14 : 55

خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ كَٱلۡفَخَّارِ

He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. info

وَخَلَقَ ٱلۡجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٖ مِّن نَّارٖ

And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. info

16 : 55

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

17 : 55

رَبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقَيۡنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَغۡرِبَيۡنِ

[He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets.[1595] info

[1595] i.e., the points of sunrise in the east and sunset in the west in both summer and winter.

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

19 : 55

مَرَجَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ يَلۡتَقِيَانِ

He released the two seas,[1596] meeting [one another]; info

[1596] Two bodies of water or two sea waters of distinct characteristics.

بَيۡنَهُمَا بَرۡزَخٞ لَّا يَبۡغِيَانِ

Between them is a barrier so neither of them transgresses. info

21 : 55

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

22 : 55

يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡهُمَا ٱللُّؤۡلُؤُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ

From both of them emerge pearl and coral. info

23 : 55

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

24 : 55

وَلَهُ ٱلۡجَوَارِ ٱلۡمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ كَٱلۡأَعۡلَٰمِ

And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. info

25 : 55

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

26 : 55

كُلُّ مَنۡ عَلَيۡهَا فَانٖ

Everyone upon it [i.e., the earth] will perish, info
التفاسير:

27 : 55

وَيَبۡقَىٰ وَجۡهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلۡجَلَٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ

And there will remain the Face[1597] of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

يَسۡـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ كُلَّ يَوۡمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأۡنٖ

Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is in [i.e., bringing about] a matter.[1598] info

[1598] For each of His creatures.

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

سَنَفۡرُغُ لَكُمۡ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ

We will attend to you, O prominent beings.[1599] info

[1599] Specifically two: mankind and jinn.

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

33 : 55

يَٰمَعۡشَرَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ أَن تَنفُذُواْ مِنۡ أَقۡطَارِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنفُذُواْۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ

O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allāh]. info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

35 : 55

يُرۡسَلُ عَلَيۡكُمَا شُوَاظٞ مِّن نَّارٖ وَنُحَاسٞ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ

There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke,[1600] and you will not defend yourselves. info

[1600] Another possible meaning is liquefied brass or copper.

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

37 : 55

فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ وَرۡدَةٗ كَٱلدِّهَانِ

And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil[1601] - info

[1601] Or "like a tanned skin."

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - info

39 : 55

فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يُسۡـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٞ وَلَا جَآنّٞ

Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn.[1602] info

[1602] Once they have been condemned to the Fire.

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

يُعۡرَفُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ بِسِيمَٰهُمۡ فَيُؤۡخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِي وَٱلۡأَقۡدَامِ

The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet. info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

43 : 55

هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ

This is Hell, which the criminals deny. info

يَطُوفُونَ بَيۡنَهَا وَبَيۡنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٖ

They will circulate between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree]. info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

46 : 55

وَلِمَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ

But for he who has feared the position of his Lord[1603] are two gardens - info

[1603] An alternative meaning is "the standing [for account] before his Lord."

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - info

ذَوَاتَآ أَفۡنَانٖ

Having [spreading] branches. info
التفاسير:

49 : 55

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

50 : 55

فِيهِمَا عَيۡنَانِ تَجۡرِيَانِ

In both of them are two springs, flowing. info
التفاسير:

51 : 55

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info
التفاسير:

52 : 55

فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٖ زَوۡجَانِ

In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds. info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

54 : 55

مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشِۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنۡ إِسۡتَبۡرَقٖۚ وَجَنَى ٱلۡجَنَّتَيۡنِ دَانٖ

[They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low. info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

56 : 55

فِيهِنَّ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ

In them are women limiting [their] glances,[1604] untouched[1605] before them by man or jinnī - info

[1604] To their own mates, i.e., being chaste and modest.
[1605] Literally, they have not been caused to bleed by loss of virginity.

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - info

كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلۡيَاقُوتُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ

As if they were rubies and coral.[1606] info

[1606] In purity, color and beauty.

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

هَلۡ جَزَآءُ ٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنُ

Is the reward for good [anything] but good? info
التفاسير:

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ

And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens - info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - info

مُدۡهَآمَّتَانِ

Dark green [in color]. info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

فِيهِمَا عَيۡنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ

In both of them are two springs, spouting. info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

فِيهِمَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَنَخۡلٞ وَرُمَّانٞ

In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates. info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

فِيهِنَّ خَيۡرَٰتٌ حِسَانٞ

In them are good and beautiful women - info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - info

حُورٞ مَّقۡصُورَٰتٞ فِي ٱلۡخِيَامِ

Fair ones reserved in pavilions - info
التفاسير:

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - info

لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ

Untouched before them by man or jinnī - info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - info

مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفۡرَفٍ خُضۡرٖ وَعَبۡقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٖ

Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets. info

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? info

تَبَٰرَكَ ٱسۡمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي ٱلۡجَلَٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ

Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. info
