وَإِذۡ يَرۡفَعُ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدَ مِنَ ٱلۡبَيۡتِ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلُ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلۡ مِنَّآۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
(127) ˹Mention Muhammad˺ While Ibrāhīm and Ismāʿīl were raising the foundations of the House[188] ˹they prayed˺: “Our Lord, accept ˹this˺ from us; You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing”[189].
[188] Ibn ʿAṭiyyah relates in his Tafsīr the consensus that al-Bayt (The House) here is the Kaʿbah itself. (al-Ṭabarī, Ibn ʿAṭiyyah, Ibn Kathīr, al-Saʿdī, Ibn ʿĀshūr, al-Shinqīṭī)
[189] They chanted this supplication while building the Kaʿbah (cf. al-Bukhārī: 3364).
